Thai Orchid Expands to Northland with New Location at Metro North Crossing

Beloved Mission restaurant Thai Orchid is making its way north, with a new location now in soft opening at 464 NW Legacy Drive in the Metro North Crossing development.

Known for its warm hospitality and flavorful Thai classics, Thai Orchid is adding bold new dishes to its Northland menu, including braised beef khao soi and crying tiger garlic fried rice — joining longtime favorites like pad thai and tom kha.

The expansion is the latest chapter in the story of Jonathan Rojjanasrirat, who took over the family-run restaurant in 2018 with his wife after returning to Kansas City from Las Vegas. Since then, the couple has made it their mission to bring Thai comfort food to a wider audience across the metro.

“We want to share the food our family loves with more Kansas Citians,” Rojjanasrirat said.

The Northland location is slated for a full grand opening later in April 2025, but guests are already welcome during soft opening hours.
