Nathan Willett Launches Bid for Missouri State Senate

Kansas City Councilman Nathan Willett is Earning Key Endorsements and Energizing Local Conservatives

With a message rooted in hard work, conservative values, and community representation, Nathan Willett has officially launched his campaign for Missouri State Senate in District 34. Willett, a fresh face in Missouri politics and a rising star in the Republican Party, aims to succeed outgoing Senator Tony Luetkemeyer, who is leaving office due to term limits.

Willett has been a rather bland but competent KC councilman and is not as showy as some of the other council members south of the river.  He seemed to always be standing up for the Northland, at least in the verbal sense but was often outvoted when it came to securing city services for the KC Northland.

In his announcement, Willett emphasized his commitment to “common sense conservative values” and pledged to be a tireless advocate for Buchanan and Platte Counties in Jefferson City. “From supporting hardworking families to ensuring responsible fiscal policies,” Willett said, “I will work tirelessly to represent the people of our communities.”

Willett’s campaign has already hit the ground running, with grassroots efforts spanning from St. Joseph to Riverside. “Our team has been knocking doors and listening to residents across the district,” he shared, reflecting a hands-on approach that voters increasingly crave in an era of political disconnect.

A testament to his broad appeal, Willett has already secured endorsements from influential organizations including the Kansas City Fraternal Order of Police and KC Firefighters Local 42. These early endorsements signal strong support from public safety professionals, a core constituency in the region.

With energy, vision, and backing from key stakeholders, Nathan Willett is quickly emerging as a formidable contender in the 2024 GOP primary. As he puts it, “This is just the start of the race.”
