Friday night lights brought plenty of action across the Northland as local high school football teams battled it out, with Winnetonka and Kearney securing big wins while St. Pius X struggled against a tough Cardinal Ritter squad.
Winnetonka Griffins 48, Raytown South Cardinals 0
The Griffins put on a commanding performance, blanking Raytown South in a 48-0 rout. Winnetonka’s offense clicked on all cylinders, while the defense held the Cardinals scoreless, making a clear statement as they continue their season push.
Kearney Bulldogs 14, Park Hill Trojans 7
In a much closer contest, Kearney edged out Park Hill in a defensive showdown. The Bulldogs’ balanced effort on both sides of the ball proved enough to overcome the Trojans, who kept the game tight but couldn’t find the end zone late.
Cardinal Ritter Lions 36, St. Pius X Warriors 8
St. Pius X faced a tough road matchup against Cardinal Ritter, falling 36-8. The Warriors managed to get on the board but couldn’t slow down the Lions’ offense, which pulled away early and kept control throughout.
