Southbound 169 Ramp to Eastbound I-435 Closing for Bridge Painting This Weekend

CLAY COUNTY — The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced a temporary closure that could affect weekend and early-week commuters. The ramp from southbound Highway 169 to eastbound Interstate 435 will be shut down on Saturday, Dec. 6, and again on Monday, Dec. 8, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. as crews perform scheduled bridge-painting work.

Officials emphasized that all work is weather permitting, meaning heavy precipitation or freezing conditions could force delays or rescheduling.

Drivers who normally use the connector ramp should plan ahead, expect minor delays, and consider alternate routes during the closure window. MoDOT urges motorists to slow down, remain alert, and use caution around road crews and work zones.

This maintenance is part of ongoing preservation efforts to extend the life of key bridge structures in Clay County while improving roadway safety for the traveling public.
